Profile: Whitney Plantation is a non-profit museum dedicated to the history of slavery, situated on a historical sugar, indigo and rice plantation which operated from 1752-1975. The museum preserves over a dozen historical structures, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Whitney Plantation Historic District.

They came to me with a website built many years ago that functioned as a ticket-purchasing portal but lacked a lot of the feel and history of the organization, and needed a complete overhaul.  After some deep dives into how to best represent the mission of Whitney Plantation, we designed and developed a site that does a great job of walking the line between venue and museum, and we’re proud of the results.
